Hot plate welding

Hot plate welding

Sudură cu placa fierbinte

Basically the TOOLMASTER versions vary by their tool design, their size of useable surface and the degree of automation. All versions are suitable for high temperatures and optionally equipped with fire protection engineering, which quickly separates the tool in case of energy drop or timeout.

Infrared welding

Infrared Welding

Sudură în infraroșu

For welding by means of infrared technology short-wave (0,78-2 μm) as well as medium-wave (2-4 μm) infrared radiation of the spectrum can be used. This depends particularly on the radiation absorption capacity of the respective polymer material.

The welding process is very similar to that of hot plate welding (please see picture).

Thermal procedures

Heat staking

The riveting process creates irresolvable interlocking bonds. This is achieved by forming or reforming of thermoplastics. In most cases in this procedure only point-shaped or segmented joints are realized. In contrast to welding of two components there cannot be achieved hermetic joints.

A particular version of this procedure is the bonding of plastics with metals, textiles and cardboard. The method is frequently used for wooden decoration parts, into which a chrome decoration strip has to be embedded.

Riveting of plastics / Hot air riveting

Sudură cu aer fierbinte

Properties:

  • Welding of parts by forming or reforming
  • Creation of a point-shaped or segmented joint
  • Overlapping of the joint is necessary
  • One of the welding partners must have a clearance hole

Advantages:

  • Connections of dissimilar and similar plastics
  • Bonding of plastics with metals, textiles or cardboard
  • Cost-efficient assembly and welding technology

Hot form riveting

Nituire cu cap fierbinte

As a rule the hot form riveting is carried out in a one-cycle process. A heated riveting stamp forms the riveting head under pressure. After forming the stamp is shortly cooled down in order to avoid adhesion of the plastic material on the thermal riveting stamp. After this short cooling phase the riveting stamp is again moved above.

Advantages:

  • cost-efficient process
  • dissimilar materials can be bonded
  • low mechanical influence on the part

Thermal edge folding

Sudură termică a marginilor

Thermal edge folding is a process for connection of textiles with plastics. It is often used in the automotive industry in the field of pillar panelling (e.g. A-column; B-column; C-column, etc.). This process does not create an adhesively joined connection, but the basic textile fibres grip into the melted plastic material.

The precondition for a high quality bonding is a thermoplastic basic material and a textile which is able to withstand the thermal effect until the basic material has sufficiently melted.

It is not necessary to have a special geometry of ribs or riveting pins. This is realized at the hot plate element.

Thermal riveting MCX-W

MCX-W, mașina pentru nituirea termică a pieselor mai mici

The body of the machine is based on a rigid prismatic column which assures a parallel adjustment of the welding system.

Easy levelling (weight compensating) allows exact and quick adjustment of the welding system for each application.

A control element allows the adjustment, the change and the control of the welding parameters.

Modular positioning of the components, namely press, control and temperature regulation, allows trouble-free adjustment for each site. The number of cycles and failures is displayed. An acoustic signal informs about failures.

The actual temperature and the demanded temperature can be controlled on a regular basis
The integration into a production line of a higher ranking control system is possible via existing interfaces.

Lasers welding

Lasers welding QSW 400 L

Sudură cu laser QSW 400 L

The KLN QSW 400 L is a quasi-simultaneous laser welding machine using the principle cross laser beam welding.

The quasi-simultaneous welding combines contour welding and simultaneous welding. A scanner consisting of mirror and collimation unit (optical module to create a parallel beam path) leads the focussed laser beam with high speed several times over the welding contour.

Due to this high speed all welding contour areas are almost simultaneously heated and melted. Here the irradiated part gets in contact with the melt of the other part. Then by thermal conduction also the irradiated part is melted in the welding area.

By simultaneous welding pressure on both partners the parts are pressed together and connected (welded). The KLN QSW 400 L is a modular laser welding machine. The advantage of the modular structure is that the central laser welding machine can remain unchanged in the various welding tasks and only the housing and its frame structure must be adapted to the actual welding task.

Thus, a well-tried laser welding unit can always be used. Moreover, adaptastions to other welding tasks can be easily integrated, e. g. with rotary table, tool carrier, conveyeor or sliding table.

SW Ultrasonic tanks

Ultrasonic cleaning tanks of series SW 12, SW 25 and SW 40 are compact tabletop cleaning devices for industrial purposes.

The cleaning tanks can be equipped alternatively with frequencies of 30 or 40 kHz or in combination 30/40kHz. On the front the ultrasonic operation can be set nonstop or for a limited period. The ultrasonic generators are integrated in the stainless steel housings.

Ultrasonic cleaning tanks for determination of residual contamination

W 12 up to SW 90 are available as standard also in the version for determination of residual contamination.

Compact unit of series KT

The machine of series KT can be applied universally. It is designed for the industrial part cleaning. Application fields: metal degreasing, electrical industry, optical industry, medical technology, maintenance and service etc.

The basic version consists of a heated ultrasonic tank (tank 1) and heated cascade rinsing (tank 2 and 3). Additionally a separate dryer corresponding to the size of the compact unit can be made available.

Ultrasonic cleaning system – PWA

With this machine system KLN has created a reasonably priced solution for aqueous part cleaning. Application is possible in all ranges of industry and for all kinds of contamination. The components can be compiled for any process in a modular construction system. They can be supplemented by all systems for tank care as well by an automation of the cleaning processes.

The PWA cleaning tanks are available for determination of residual contamination.

Solvent cleaning machines/ combustible liquids

KLN manufactures various cleaning machines acc. to ATEX (ATmosphère EXplosibles) for the use of combustible liquids. The cleaning machines can be used separately or in combination with other methods.

Cleaning machines for combustible liquids with a flash point of FP>55°C

In the ordinance on industrial safety and health (BetrSichV) combustible liquids with an FP>55°C are no longer registered. The requirement to safety for handling combustible liquids, however, remains valid.

Inline continuous spray unit

KLN has developed spray unit concepts, e. g. for precision cleaning of electronic components, here focusing on cleaning of DCB, ceramics and polymer-FR4-SMD in inline continuous spray units.

Drying systems

After cleaning we use drying systems in order to achieve spotless drying, to protect corrosion-sensitive parts or to avoid water intake into production.

The drying systems can be integrated in manual or fully-automatic cleaning processes.
